But there are two functions that aren’t available anymore: Now I want to make it work in Renoise 3.1 and managed to make it load (by changing the version number in the manifest duh). But each time I used it, I thought it would be nice to release it, since I think it could be very useful to others. When I needed it, I just used Renoise 2.8. I didn’t have the time or the energy at the time to attempt to make it work in the new versions, and left it at that. Then the API changed and the tool didn’t work in the new versions. Years ago I made a little tool that has been very useful to me: it uses the file names of samples to automatically generate key mappings.
If I now setup “knee 25%” in Mcompressor, a linear additional knee phase, it starts to sound more similar.Ĭan you give me some details about the algorithm? Do you know a VST compressor which will match very well? Is the Renoise compressor actually using such a linear knee phase? What about the detection/internal sidechain, does it react on l/R separately or on the sum? Do you thick that the attack and release values are accurate and match usual compressor timing “standards”? Also it seems that the threshold value is not very precise…? For example, if I setup MCompressor, Bitwig Compressor or Bitwig Dynamics, using almost same values (and threshold by ear, targeting the same output volume), the sound still won’t be as stable as in Renoise on my synthbass sound. Now it turns out that the Renoise compressor produces really stable results.
I am converting a song from Renoise to Bitwig currently. Hi, I would like to know some of the algorithmic details of the standard Renoise compressor.
